Led by a local resident, urban planner, and passionate foodie from Have You Met Newark Tours, this immersive walking experience explores the rich waves of immigration that have shaped one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Along the way, guests will visit historic churches, specialty shops, and beloved local establishments while learning about the cultural traditions that make the Ironbound a global culinary destination.
The tour also includes tastings of some of the neighborhood’s most iconic treats. Guests will sample the beloved Brazilian sweet brigadeiro, savor the creamy custard of the traditional Portuguese pastéis de nata, and enjoy a selection of savory specialties that showcase the authentic flavors of the Ironbound.
